Here we have a collection of around 200,000 patches for the DX7 family of synthesizers supplied on CD. You will need a sysex loader and a midi interface to load these into your Yamaha synth.
Owners of the Korg Kronos will know that their keyboard includes MOD7 which is able to load Yamaha DX7 SysEx libraries. A single EXi Program, which can support two MOD7 sounds, is equivalent to a hugely enhanced DX1 (the monster of the DX range), and you can layer multiple Programs in a Combi to emulate all eight TF1 modules in the mighty TX816, although with reduced polyphony.
All you need to do is to copy the entire contents of the CD to a USB drive and then load the patches directly into your Kronos via the USB socket (A). You can load 32 sounds at a time into any user area. I’ve tried this on my own Kronos and it takes literally a fraction of a second.

DX7S contains 512 sounds including the Factory Preload patches for the DX7S and 6 Banks of 64 patches. DX5 contains 128 ROM patches in 4 banks from the DX5. TX802 contains 128 sounds including the Factory Preload patches and performances for the TX802. DX7II contains the factory preload patches and performances for the DX7II. ROM & RAM contains 864 sounds extracted from ROM and RAM cartridges. TX7 contains about 10500 sounds from the TX7. Unsorted contains more than 71500 sounds which have not been categorized.
