FIVE ELECTRIC (12v) DRAWSTOP SOLENOIDS
for a pipe-organ
These drawstop solenoids are by Stero (Williams Ltd, Solihull) who sadly ceased trading a few years back. This is a pity since they made good, servicable electrical equipment for electric / elecrto-pneumatic organs, and were generally notably less costly then their rivals, Kimber-Allen.
These Drawstop solenoids are from a large organ in North Hampshire which hasn’t been played for a few years, so I suspect these have had comparatively little use. They run at 12-14 volts DC (standard organ electric current). The on/off function is a sturdy but simple looking wiping mechanism, keeping the two terminals clean as they work. They also contain 2 magnets each, which will work with the pistons to physically move the drawstop ON or OFF.
This listing is for five of these units (not for the Gamba drawstop, whose photos I have included just to show how these fit the solenoids). The solenoid units are listed at 4 each. If you want more or less of these (I have about 45) you would be better to call me (details on final photo) rather than bidding, or you may over-pay. The actual stop-knobs (like the Gamba one in the photo) are 3 each. Again, a phone call will secure as many of these as you want. I can supply a list of the stop-knobs I have if you wish, or you can re-grind them for your own stop names
As with all things posted, it is rather cheaper to post a quantity rather than just five! These are quite heavy, and would cost 10 to post. On the other hand you could probably have 20 for not much more postage charge! Or of course you could collect them from West Yorkshire
Alternatively if you live in the south, then I could bring your order with me when I am coming south; depending of course on current virus restrictions, I should be travelling to Oxfordshire, Worcester, Hampshire and Dorset over the next 4-5 months.
