69-key 1880s GAVIOLI TRUMPET BARREL ORGAN No. 7125
Historic Instrument from the English Fairground, ex Silcock Family.
In need of full restoration, it is in derelict condition, and was last used in the 1960s before falling into disrepair.
The organ was recorded in the late 1960s on a private LP by Eroica… VIDEO AND MORE PHOTOS COMING VERY SHORTLY
The organ was thought to be exported to American, but was saved by an Irish steam enthusiast. Having been shown a photo by the late Derrick Londrigan, I tracked it down and purchased it in 2003. Having carried out some conservation treatment to the woodwork, it’s been sitting in the back of a storage container for the last 16 years, and needs to find a deserving home where it will at least be preserved, and ideally restored to playing order one day.
