1912 Upright Piano (with candelarbras) by John Spencer & Co London
This is my younger brother’s Upright Piano. We have had the Piano since 1995.
The Serial number of the Piano is 51338; and as such it was manufactured by John Spencer & Co in 1912.You can check out expert dates referring to serial numbers here: John Spencer & Co serial number dates
The Piano still has one of it’s earlier piano tuning records on the inside left dated: October 16th 1933, having been tuned by George Cooper ATCL of the Hollies, 22 Walsall Road Lichfield.
MY BROTHER’s PIANO
The piano was mainly played by my brother who has now moved to Los Angeles pursuing his acting career, and as such no longer needs the piano.
The piano has to our knowledge always been within the Wolverhampton and Walsall postcodes, which appears to be supported by the early tuning record mentioned above.
It is in good condition and is quite a beautiful antique piece of furniture over and above it’s musical uses.
The Piano is on castors so it can be pushed along to move and it has a music stand that can be retracted into the piano when not in use. As you will see from the photos it has 2 pedals and 2 candelabra stands attached to the piano. The top lid lifts to view inside the piano and it’s front face comes off to inspect the playing mechanisms. The serial number is on the inside face of the piano.

I am not sure of the exact weight but a typical upright piano weight is around 185kg.LOCATION
The piano is currently located in Walsall WS2.
