Hi, this is well travel but impeccably maintained 330 that I’ve used with my XB-2 for the past 25-odd years.
Yes, it’s red in colour and not to everyone’s taste but a friend working at Marshalls recovered it many moons ago and it probably needs going over again (but maybe a more orthodox brown would be my thoughts these days!). It has been modified during the life on the road to have an IEC lead connection rather than a stupid flying lead and another friend fitted a more rugged latching connector rather than the flimsy 11-Pin valve base. Apparently the connector was off a submarine – it certainly looks military and has been flawless ever since.
This is a push-pull MOSFET amp, 60W if iI recall and uses the 3055 power transistors that were apparently prone to popping so I carried spares but I’ve never needed to and the new owner is welcome to them.
The bearings and bushes have been kept well oiled, always traveled upright and as such the internal mechanicals are unmolested and tip-top. Given it’s age and use I’d recommend a going over before putting it back into active service.
The photos show it’s current condition, some shots during a session last year and it even sneaks into view of photo from the 90’s! Suppled with a massively long 11-pin cable and IEC lead.
I’ve load of bits from my days on the road that I’ll add in the coming week so why not have a look – there’s some hard to find bits of Hammond ancillaries, Leslie pre-amps and all sorts of strangeness!
