Technics U90 Pro organ. This is the rare ‘stage’ version of the Technics U90 – a revolutionary organ at the time it was launched, and still sounds great today.
This particular example was rescued from a derelict social club scheduled for demolition. It had sat there for around ten years when I found it. It was filthy but has cleaned up surprisingly well. No yellowing of the keys, and being mainly spray-painted, it wouldn’t take much to make this look like new. It does power on and light up, and the internal amp and speakers are running, but no sounds are produced. All the button lights are on, and buttons are totally unresponsive. My guess is that it isn’t ‘booting’ and that it needs recapping, but sadly I don’t have the eyesight at the moment, so I am going to let someone else take it on – it’s well worth doing.
