Yamaha FX-1 Electone Organ  One of the rarest Yamaha Electone organs ever made, this is the only production example of the Yamaha FX-1 which ever came to the UK. It was purchased by the Blackpool Sandcastle Water Park and Entertainment Complex on Blackpool Promenade, at a new cost of 36,000, and delivered in time for the opening of the venue in June 1986. Whilst at the Sandcastle, Yamaha arranged for many of the country’s top organists to visit Blackpool and give concerts on this flagship instrument. Glyn Madden, Brian Sharp, Howard Beaumont, Harry Stoneham and many others were featured at these performances. The FX-1 features two 61-note main keyboards, and a third solo (monophonic) keyboard of 37 notes. The pedal keyboard has 25 notes (all keyboards are C to C). I bought this organ from the Sandcastle in 1995, when the “Piazza Showbar” was replaced by the “World Of Coronation Street” attraction. Since then it has been at my home near Blackpool, and due to downsizing, it is now time to let it go. This really is an iconic design. Don’t be fooled into thinking it is in any way the lightweight, slender design it looks. This is a substantial, professional instrument, sturdily constructed in solid metal. It is heavy, and will need proper transportation. Even the stool weighs a lot! The organ plays through the Model TX-1 dedicated tone cabinets. I only ever used one of these at home as they are so very powerful (310 watts each). However, there are a total of four of these cabinets available. Two are with the organ, only one of which is operational. Two others have lived in my shed since purchase. They have their original protective covers on, but I cannot verify their condition with the limited access I have. I am not able to wire them up to check for operation, and therefore I am offering these as a free source of spare parts for the other two.  I am not able to offer any kind of shipping for this instrument, so it is available for local pickup only (it is located near to Blackpool, Lancashire). At least two strong men will be needed to handle this, as well as a large van. The organ does show some minor marks from the Sandcastle days. Attention to the motorised faders will be needed, as some are sticking, probably due to lack of use during recent years (although they all operate correctly when moved manually). I do know that electronic organs, as a genre, have become very much less popular in recent years. Therefore I have set the starting price very low, and there is no reserve price. I am hoping it goes to someone who will enjoy playing it, as I have done over the years. The FX-1 is available during the auction to view and play. If you are interested, viewing is highly recommended, as this organ really should be seen to be fully appreciated. It is a very impressive instrument, and there is nothing else quite like it.  Please do not bid unless you are able to make full payment within three days, and arrange for collection from Blackpool, Lancashire, within seven days of the end of this auction.  Many thanks for looking, please ask if you have any questions.
