This auction is for a beautiful Broadwood Boudoir Grand Piano in a Rosewood case. It was made in Broadwood’s Horseferry Road workshops in Westminster in 1887 (completed on the 26th May 1887) and we know most of its history from then until the present day. It is in full playing order though a few of the strings go out of tune more quickly than others – our piano tuner has said this is fairly easy to fix though. We have owned the piano for over 20 years but because of growing children we either need a bigger house or a smaller piano. It is a really beautiful piece of furniture and is good piano to play with a really nice touch and tone. Though my piano playing doesn’t do it justice, when the tuner plays it, it sounds glorious! The case does have some scratches and marks and there are a few pieces of veneer missing as you would expect on an instrument this age.
