This once iconic Italian red and black organ has been in the family from new back in the 1960s. It was gigged by my dad two or three times a week over at least a couple of decades, until it was eventually replaced by a newer model and kept largely unused or for occasional practising at his home. It has been stored (on sentimental grounds), totally unused at my home since he died well over 20 years ago. Although it was working when he died, the last time I contemplated selling it (on 10th Feb 2011 when one of these sold on eBay for 905), I attempted to test it but it did not work and so I abandoned my plans to sell it, but it is taking up space that I now wish to reclaim. It failed to work once whilst he was alive but I fixed it myself very simply (I cannot recall what I did). It has been stored in a room above a (moist, not wet) cellar for all of that time and so I imagine it ‘might’ benefit from some fresh air and assume that it requires a general overhaul to get it functioning correctly. It is therefore being sold (hopefully to an enthusiast or collector of music memorabilia who knows what they are doing), as its not properly working – therefore faulty and good for spares or repairs. Built into its own case, it comes complete with foot-controlled bass pedal assembly and volume (swell) foot pedal. The rugged red and black tolex cover is evidently in well-gigged condition and all corners and edges have been reinforced with matching red and black heavy duty fabric Gaffa-style tape, but the red has mostly faded to pinky-grey over the years. Some of the selector buttons have had cardboard overlays printed (presumably because the labels had worn). The buyer will have to collect from the Derby area (UK) and, due to considerable weight, it will need to be collected in a suitable vehicle. Outer Dimensions: 97cm x 46cm x 24cm (aprox) Reportedly used by:Dave Clark Five, the Partridge Family, Pink Floyd, Procol Harem, Sly and the Family Stone, The Beatles, The Buckinghams, and Van der Graf Generator before it fell out of fashion. This exact model returned into vogue with the likes of Elvis Costello in the late 70s and 80s. More recently, bands like Green Day, Fela Kuti, Can, Stereolab, Led Zeppelin, Kraftwerk, Patti Smith, REM, Roxy Music, Simple Minds, Sun Ra, Tangerine Dream, The B-52’s, The Band, They Might Be Giants and Tom Waits, have also used Farfisa’s distinctive sound.
Please note that I am selling this on behalf of my friend who doesn’t have an ebay account and the above narrative has all been provided by him.  If you have any questions I will need to refer back to him so please be a little patient if responses take a bit longer than usual.
If you have any questions please message me.
Many thanks for looking and reading.
