Walcker ‘Floete’ 4′, 61 notes, C – C.

Originally from a Walcker Dulcinelle so well made and voiced.

Tapered construction, arched mouths, with the mouths being ‘flatted’ right up to the top note.

Scroll/slot tuned except for top 25 notes which are cone tuned. Thin plain organ metal.

Some pipes have some dents, from before we got them, but nothing which affects their speech or tone. They have been cleaned, so are as bright as the pictures make them look and would easily polish up to look almost like new.

Tonally they are a quiet but bright flute on around 3″ to 3,1/2″ WG, but blown on about 4,1/2″ WG become very bright, quite loud, and almost diapason like in tone.

We would class them as a ‘tapered’, ‘spindle’, ‘spire’ or even ‘spitz’ type flute due to their tapered bodies and arched mouths. The pipes are stamped ‘FLOETE’ and with their note, and use the old Germanic note markings, where A# is marked as ‘b’ and B is marked with the ‘natural’ sign.

It is an unusual and fairly rare stop to become available and we are sorry to part with it, but have no use for it.

Whilst we would prefer local collection we could make a wooden crate and ship it, for the cost of the crate, packing materials and carriage, and yes, we will ship to other countries if required. It has not yet been weighed but would do so if carriage is wanted, when an estimated cost can be given.
