John Broadwood & Sons Iron Framed Upright Piano. Condition is Used. Collection in person only.
Piano has been in family since new, estimated from serial number to be 1894.
One hammer needs replacing and it will need tuning,
but otherwise a great example of a late Victorian cottage upright.
All action on the other keys is still solid and the iron frame and dampening are in remarkably good condition for the age.
Few chips on the laquer on the corners, but nothing that a few days work couldn’t repair.
Must go, so if you want it, can pick it up and have a home to give it (although properly restored, examples can go for up to 4000)
then please bid. It would be a shame for another piece of history to go to the recycling.
