Make no mistake this is a serous piano. Its the kind of thing Jools Holland uses (I think his is a P90).
It has 88 proper weighted keys – none of these crappy plastic keys that play when you rest your fingers on them.
You can use headphones if you have neighbours, or crack out the speakers if you dont care what they think.
Plenty loud enough for gigs – I used this to play at my wedding!
You might think that the sound when you play a key hard is just the same sound as when you play it gently, just louder. But no – Yamaha actually sample each note of an acoustic piano at several different strengths This just illustrates the kind of attention to detail you get with something like this.
Its at perfect concert pitch, but If you are playing with musicians who cant easily retune their instruments, you can actually finely adjust the tuning of this thing. Or even simply transpose it to play in a different key.
Comes with music stand, proper pedal, power supply, keyboard felt thing, and I should somewhere have the little reference card telling you how to adjust the pitch and transpose etc.
It has midi in, midi out, headphone jack for line out, plus pretty decent punchy built-in speakers.
