Containing both the amazing Yamaha CFX and Bosendorfer Imperial voices, the CVP705 elevates performing to a whole new level. The large full colour touchscreen LCD screen makes operation a breeze. Polyphony is 256 notes and with 984 voices plus 33 drum kits and an additional 480 XG voices you’ll be spoilt for choice. Boasting the brilliant NWX (Natural Wood X) keyboard with its escapement mechanism which reproduces the feel of an acoustic piano through to the let-off and drop of the hammer, to the synthetic ivory keytops which replicate a real piano’s tactile surface, the CVP705 both feels and responds like an acoustic piano.
Headphone listening is improved with the help of the Stereophonic Optimizer. This amazing feature adjusts the sound spacing and separation from the piano which gives a more spacious sound image than ever before.
The Yamaha ‘Piano Room’ also features on the CVP705 with the addition of the ‘Session Mode’. This is great to instantly play along with any of 40 different music styles . These ‘virtual musicians’ can be selectively activated or deactivated based upon your own preferences. You can even record your performances at the touch of a button.
Sound quality is superb and with the inclusion of Yamaha’s ‘Super Articulation’ technology you’ll hear fret noise or body knocks from a guitar, or the breath sounds and glissandos from wind instruments.
‘Music Finder’ is a great feature which will instantly set the piano up for you to play a particular song. Simple select the song from the list and the correct settings will instantly be made. All that you need to then do is play!
The ‘Style Recommender’ feature is great if you’re unsure as to which style is most appropriate for your performance. Simply press the button, start to play and the ‘Style Recommender’ will select style which best suits your song. You can even plug in a Microphone and use the amazing ‘Vocal Harmoniser 2’ feature to either harmonise your voice with a selection of backing singers, or even use the built-in vocoder (made famous by Phil Collins “In the Air Tonight”).
USB Audio Recording will allow you to record or play back your performance directly to a USB Flash Drive in either .WAV or 5 different popular MP3 formats.
Because everybody listens at different levels, this can sometimes result in the speaker EQ (bass and treble levels) being incorrect. To solve this problem Yamaha created the ‘Intelligent Acoustic Control’ feature. This adjusts the EQ level even when the piano is being played at a low volume to ensure that you don’t lose the rich and balanced sound.
Connectivity is comprehensive with USB Device and Host connectors, Mic/Line Input, Midi In/Out/Thru, Stereo Mini Aux Input, Aux Pedal Input and RGB Output. The piano is available in either Black Walnut or Polished Ebony finishes.

A piano for any occasion, the CVP705 is packed with features that everyone will love. The touchscreen is large, ultra responsive and intuitive, plus the sound quality is superb. Backings are rich and detailed with a really nice depth to the tone. The Keyboard is exactly what you’d expect from a wooden key action, being emotive and engaging to play. Suitable for players from any level as well as being great for the kids or grandkids, a fun feature is the ‘Follow the Lights’ facility, which will ensure that even somebody who’s ‘tone deaf’ will be able to play a song! Not only does the CVP-705 feature the incredibly realistic touch of an acoustic grand piano due to its Natural Wood X Keyboard and escapement mechanism, but also has an abundance of additional features to make playing a more exciting experience for both beginners and skilled pianists.
