I bought this organ new in the late 1990s from Foxes Music in Nottingham. It has only been played at home and has had light use. It is in superb condition. I recently bought a Nalbantov USB adapter kit to replace the floppy drive. I will include this in the sale, but the buyer will need to fit it themselves or get a professional to fit. The floppy drive works fine but the USB is more convenient.
The successful buyer will need to collect the organ from between Newark and Mansfield in Nottinghamshire. It does split into two parts, although I have never separated it.
The Technics GA1 is a wonderful organ. The rhythm section still stacks up against many of the more modern instruments out there. A 16 track sequencer that can save in GM mode if you wish. Create your own styles, play with the sound edit and create new sounds. Mix and match sounds 4 upper 4 lower ( potentially 16 upper 16 lower )This organ is amazing.
Undoubtedly the best organs out there are a combination of a great sound source and great amplification, the GA1 has both. Technics sampleD many great organs of the day and saved them on the GA1 so you get proper pipe organs Hammond B3`s European organ sounds and a very healthy 150 watt sound system. It has a great theatre organ sound and can create the music of a church or cathedral organ. Alternatively you can hear anything from a swing band to a full orchestra. Registrations and arrangements in Technics format or Midi format are still available to download and buy on the internet.
The Technics GA1 is touch sensitive and all the orchestral sounds have expression. Technics were so far ahead of their time.
