A lovely piano….well maintained and plays well !!
Dimensions:Width: 142cmHeight: 99cmDepth: 128 cmMonington and Weston pianos in the UK were made between 1920 to 1940. The company produced about 20,000 pianos during this period. Many of their baby grands made at that time had a reasonable tone for their size. Nearly all had simplex actions. As Monington and Weston specialised in baby grands, these were some of the best simplex action baby grands available. They were mainly produced in mahogany and walnut.The particular Baby Grand for sale is dated approx.1937 with serial number 56701.The unique characteristic of many Monington and Weston pianos is their double iron frame this is an extra iron frame under the piano; this was an attempt to make it more stable and definitely makes them heavier and more robust. Monington and Weston pianos were generally considered to be well designed and of good quality. The Baby Grand for sale is in mahogany with Cabriole legs. The piano cabinet is in good condition, has been well maintained, polished regularly and is attractive to view. The simplex action was professionally refurbished in 1994. Sections of the keyboard have been refurbished over past years which were tuner recommendations. It has been tuned regularly up to late 2016. The piano has had little use since then due to the owner suffering an accident to one of his hands that has stopped him playing. He is now moving home and has decided to part company with his old friend.Overall this is a lovely piano that has been in a very good home and received a lot of love and attention. It is in great condition for its age and plays well.Buyer can visit and try at a time suitable and if purchased the buyer is to arrange removal and transportation. If being bought for Christmas it can be housed until Christmas 2018 if required.The piano comes with a stool, teaching books a substantial amount of sheet music.
