Collard & Collard Boudoir Grand Piano.
This is a beautiful Indian Rosewood Boudoir or Parlour Grand (between a baby grand and a grand) which I believe was made in 1850. There are three numbers marked on the inside: 56422 (which is likely to be the serial number) 5532, and 1143, along with the name Bogg & Sons, Manchester. There are sliding candle stands at each side, ornate carved legs, and details on the side. Unusually there are 82 original ivory keys, typical of pianos built around this time. The piano is 52 inches wide and 77 inches long (4ft 4 inches x 6 foot 5; 132cm x 195cm)
There is a small chip on the right hand side, which should be quite easy to repair, and the Collard &Collard name is partly worn away. Otherwise the piano is in great condition, particularly for its age!
You are of course welcome to come and see the piano and try it for yourself. It hasnt been tuned for a while, but does stay mostly in tune anyway. Please get in touch if you need any more information and Ill do my best to help.
You would of course need to arrange collection by someone who knows what theyre doing! The North West Piano Centre is probably a good place to start.
