The Alesis Vintage Keyboards QCard is in excellent cosmetic and working condition. Also included are the original Alesis Instruction Booklet/Patch Charts and the Protective Jewel Case.
Note that this card has been Refurbished and is guaranteed to be in excellent working condition, with a LIFETIME warranty. QCards are comprised of several primary components – the Outer Casing, the 68 Pin PCMCIA Connector, and a Circuit Board containing many electronic components including Flash Memory Chips, ASICs, Transistors, Capacitors, and a primary Controller Chip. My Refurbished QCards have had at least one or more of these components replaced to guarantee that the card meets (or exceeds) the original factory specifications. If you are wondering why this card does NOT work in the Lower Slot of the QSR/QS7/QS8 Models, it is because of the fact that there are many different replacement Flash Memory Chips. These chips vary in price and compatibility. For example, The Flash Memory Chips required to refurbish a card that will work in BOTH Slots of the QSR/QS7/QS8 Models are considerably more expensive than the Flash Memory Chips required for Upper Slot only functionality. Since not all users require a card that works in both slots, I prefer to offer my buyers both options. If you require a card that works in Both Slots of the QSR/QS7/QS8 then check out my auction for my $115 card, but if you are satisfied with a card that works in the Upper Slot only you can save some $$ by purchasing this card. Also note that this card will work in BOTH Slots of the QS6.1, QS7.1 and QS8.1 – it is only the QSR/QS7/QS8 Models that require the more expensive Flash Memory Chips for Upper and Lower Slot compatibility.

The Alesis 8 Megabyte Vintage Keyboards QCard offers a collection of super-realistic sounds from the greatest electronic keyboard instruments from the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s. This library of classic keyboards begins with a wide selection of authentic electric pianos… everything from warm suitcases to biting rock wurlys and smooth, rich electric grands. NOTE for Users of a TWO Slot QS Model: After you receive this card and have a chance to “play” with it, if you like the sounds but wish that you had a LARGER SELECTION of Programs and Mixes that utilize the Samples that are “Unique” to this card, please feel free to contact me regarding my “Custom Programmed” SRAM Cards. With the addition of one of my “Custom” SRAM Cards, you can TRIPLE the number of Programs and Mixes available to you from 128 Programs and 100 Mixes to 384 Programs and 300 Mixes! When you insert my “Custom” SRAM card in the Lower Slot, you can INSTANTLY Triple the number of Programs and Mixes that are available for whichever QCard is loaded in the Upper Slot! Most QCards have TWO Extra Banks of Programs and Mixes that were created by Alesis and were shipped with the original QCard on a CD and Floppy Disk. But Alesis required the User to “Transfer” ONE of the Extra Banks at a time from your computer to the QS User Bank using their Freeloader sysex transfer program, which is FAR more awkward than just inserting a custom card. By using the official Alesis method, you can only access ONE extra bank at a time, and the extra bank WILL wipe out your User Bank. My custom card is a FAR more eloquent solution – not only does it INSTANTLY give you access to TWO MORE banks of Programs and Mixes for your QCard, the Custom SRAM Card has room for EIGHT Banks of Programs/Mixes, so I can program ONE SRAM Card to contain the 2 Extra Banks for up to FOUR QCards. So for example, if you own the Vintage Keys, Vintage Synths, Sanctuary and Eurodance QCards, I can program the 2 Extra Banks for ALL four of these QCards on ONE SRAM Card. If you insert this custom SRAM Card in your Lower Slot, then whichever QCard is inserted into the Upper Slot will have 384 Programs and 300 Mixes INSTANTLY available instead of just 128 Programs/100 Mixes! And Alesis created the QS series so that the cards can be “hot-swapped”, so you can EASILY swap QCards even between songs in a live setting.

Will this card work with the QuadraSynth/QuadraSynth Plus Piano or the S4/S4 Plus Sound Module?
ALL Qcards work FINE with the QuadraSynth Plus Piano and S4 Plus Sound Modules. QCards also work fine with the ORIGINAL Quadrasynth and the ORIGINAL S4 Sound Modules, BUT you MUST load a Special Preset Bank into the User Bank first in order for the QCard to work with the ORIGINAL Quadrasynth/S4, and your operating system must be version 1.07 or higher. I can e-mail you the Special Preset Bank which you will need to transfer to your Quadrasynth/S4 using a MIDI sysex program – or I can make you a custom SRAM Card programmed with the Special Preset Bank or Banks – if you want to use multiple QCards I can program as many as eight Special Preset Banks on one SRAM Card. Yes, ALL Qcards work in the Alesis DG8.
NOTE: I believe in fair shipping fees, but due to constantly changing US Postal Rate changes, I have had to raise my shipping fees accordingly. I securely pack my cards using cardboard inserts and bubble packs, and the Post Office NO LONGER ships these packages at the letter rate. And they ALSO keep drastically changing international rates. I try to keep my shipping rates up to date with the USPS changes, and my current shipping fees are $4.50 via US First Class Mail in the continental US which includes tracking. Worldwide shipping is no longer a flat rate, the rate will change based on your country. I have found the current rates to range from around $9.00 to $18.00, depending on country. I try to keep my rates constant and fair but their frequent rate changes keep forcing me to adjust my shipping rates. International First Class Mail does NOT include Tracking. The ONLY USPS International Shipping Method that includes Tracking is Priority Express, which runs about $63, which is ridiculously expensive.
