Antique Broadwood & Sons Grand piano from 19th centuryBroadwood are a high quality British piano maker with long established relationships with royal families. They were the appointed piano manufacturer to King George I. Broadwood pianos have been owned by Chopin, Beethoven, Schumann and Brahms among others. This particular piano is a Broadwood Grand Piano with the serial number 10281. The actual date and model can be reviewed on the Broadwood website, along with the history of the business. It is crafted to be highly ornate with decorative legs and, as with all Broadwoods, this is a very fine instrument. The detail in the legs, the lyre, the candelabra stands etc are sensational. Makes a great piece of furniture as well as a great musical instrument. The piano is beautiful and naturally has signs of wear to the case (multiple pictures provides). Please note an imperfection in the veneer in one of the photos (it is 4.5cm x 5cm), this can be repaired by a specialist if required, I have also tried to photograph some small scratches – look carefully at the pictures. The piano will need a tune as it hasn’t been used for a few years but is in generally good condition for its age. Piano approximate dimensions: Length: 224cm (84 1/4in), Width: 140cm (55in), Height: 95cm (37 1/4in) (when closed)This piano is an antique item and as such the buyer needs to expect signs of age, imperfections to the veneer and scratches. You are welcome to view the piano before bidding – please get in touch.Buyer collects, or can arrange their own courier collection. We can only accept courier collections if the buyer takes full responsibility for the care of the goods once the courier arrive to collect. It will be the couriers responsibility to prepare and wrap the piano for collection, so please ensure you use a dedicated furniture courier who will be familiar with how to collect and transport a grand piano. If you are coming to collect or are booking a courier collection, please contact us at least 48 hours beforehand to confirm our availability.
