An exceptionally rare Arts and Crafts grand piano by Broadwood dated 1904. The wonderful Arts and Crafts casework is attributed to CR Ashbee, one of the leading exponents of the Arts and Crafts style.
The instrument has the rare and much sought-after patent Broadwood ‘Barless’ frame.
The case is in fine, original condition. The instrument does play, but is in original condition, so could benefit from some restoration if required.
The case is a fine figured mahogany with extraordinary hand made decorative hinges of the highest quality.
Altogether a pretty exceptional instrument.
