Beautiful Allison Baby Grand Piano with ornate Art Deco marquetry case made almost entirely from maple veneer.
This is no ordinary old English baby grand – this piano has been fully restored at a cost of over 8000 less than 10 years ago
Included in the restoration:
– Completely new action
– New strings
– New hammers
– New wrestplank/pinblock and tuning pins
– New soundboard
– Frame removed and replated
– New felts all round
Everything apart from the casework is brand new. The piano dates from around 1935.
Inside, this looks like a new piano. To quote my movers – “we’ve moved hundreds of baby grands and this is the most impressive one we’ve ever seen”.
The piano is very short at just over 4 feet long, so it will fit in even the smallest room. However, the bass is surprisingly punchy for a small piano and it is very capable of serious study and playing.
Also included is the original matching art deco stool with matching marquetry – this is extremely rare, I have never seen another one outside of an antiques catalogue.
Viewing welcomed as the pictures do not do this piano justice. The first 3 pictures are of this exact piano, the last 3 photos are of the same model piano but someone else’s to better show the maple effect of the casework – better pictures coming soon, but please come and see it.
