Great looking old upright piano, with stool
Well loved but ready to be converted into a DJ booth or something!

This listing is for my parents’ old upright piano. As with all old pianos, it’s an emotional moment having to get rid of it, but we know it’s worth nothing, so would rather it goes to someone who has any use at all for it than just gets dumped.

Typical old piano probably from early 20th Century. Made by Jarrett and Goudge in London, it’s almost certainly one that’s better looking on the outside than it ever was as an instrument so no good for anyone who’s a real afiocionado!
It’s been in the family for generations, my sister who’s now an extremely good pianist and has a baby grand piano at her home learnt on it, my Mum used to love tinkling on the ivories, I remember grumpy old aunts and uncles getting very jolly around it at Christmas and so on…
As you can see it’s quite a pretty piano with what we assume to be walnut veneer. Obviously the sconces are long gone, and it’s definitely seen better days, the top has got water damage presumably from having plants on it, and there’s a small piece of the front missing. It’s a little faded too but I still genuinely love the look of the grain. I’m told one of the keys doesn’t work, we think it’s been disconnected inside but don’t really know. It’s not been tuned for a few years, but if you just want an old honky tonk joanna to bash the ivories, feel free to take it away!
The stool is not the original but one from elsewhere that apparently is more comfortable. It seems to have some sort of a vinyl top! Hinged lid so you can hide your piano music away under your bum.
I’m sure this is ripe for conversion into a DJ booth, garden planter, bar, go-kart, theatre prop, coffin or anything else you can think of! Ideas on a postcard…
With a start price of just 99p, it’s a bargain. And as I said, we’d much rather it gets reused for anything at all.
There’s a possibility I may be able to help deliver it (by arrangement!) as I’ve got a large van. Please ask before bidding though!
