Fabulous c1800 Georgius Fredericus Schoene Square Piano converted into Secretaire Desk
Piano / Secretaire measures 65.75″ in length x 23″ depth x 9.25″ height (without its base stand).. with stand 33″
Piano retains its makers name which reads as
” Georgius Fredericus Schoene , No 45 Paddington Street, Marlebone, London”
Piano has cleverly been transformed into a secretaire/desk and incorporates a pull out writing surface and numerous storage compartments.. see images
Upper wood face does display some age related marking but withholds a wonderful polished finish..i dare say marking could be rectified if so wished..
A few other small markes are present and largely to be expected but nothing to detrimental
Piano/secretaire seats upon a removable base/legs frame and secures in place via four hand cut threaded bolts/screws..foot casters are original (do not operate fully)
I apologize for the image quality in advance. Piano/secretaire is surprisingly heavy (whether any original piano internals are still present i have no idea)
Front lock is present but has been removed/no key
Due to its size and weight this item will require collection either in person or via a suitable courier, arranged at your own instigation and cost
collection to be from Herefordshire, post code Hr3
its a shame its not in its original complete Piano form as this appears to be a rare/early quality maker that seldom turns up outside of Museums or private collections
