This item is a lovely Spencer of London upright mahogany cased piano (overstrung and underdamped), which dates from between 1920 and 1940.
We bought it in 2007 and had it fully reconditioned (the case and the strings/hammers and keys) by a professional restoration company in Kendal at a cost of 750. The current value is around 1000.
Sadly, as we are moving overseas, we are having to part with it, thus the sale.
If you’re looking for a good looking piano, with a warm and rounded tone and a nice feeling keyboard to take you through from beginner to Grade 8, or simply for enjoyment, then this is a great buy. We’ve always loved it and are very sorry to see it go.
As you will see from the pictures, the internal workings and hammers are in excellent condition, as is the exterior casing. There are just a couple of minor marks/scuffs, which we have tried to detail in the last three pictures. The piano is in need of a tune, but that is the only thing you would need to do, except to love and enjoy it as much as we have!
Also included is a covered piano stool. The lid lifts to provide storage for music.
Please note that it is for the buyer to arrange collection of this item, and as we are getting ready to move house, the winning bidder must be able to collect by 29th March latest.
