A cast iron hand -turning wheel suitable for use on a street organ: 2 foot in diameter. Originally from a hand-turned horse-clipping and sheep-shearing machine. Restored condition. Painted with ‘Post Office Red’ car paint; (Red was its original colour). Supplied with a new (removable) turning-handle. The cast lettering on the spokes have been picked out in black. they read:-
“THE BARTON GILETTE HORSE CLIPPING & SHEEP SHEARING CO LTD. 103 NEW OXFORD STREET LONDON”
“V”- groove (suitable for round belting) around edge of rim if you want to connect a motor.
Short 1/2″ dia. axle, (transversely tapped 1/4 Whit.), and a 1/4 Whit. screw are supplied in order to secure wheel to axle. (Wheel has 1/2″ dia. hole for axle. The associated transverse securing hole in the cast iron ‘hub’ is 1/4″ dia. untapped).
