This upright is a brilliant mid-range instrument and another fine example of British piano manufacturing. This piano was manufactured by Chappell & Co in the Kemble factory (UK), under license, whilst the company was under the stewardship of Yamaha.
Chappell & Co was founded in 1811 by Samuel and Johann Chappell, with the company’s clients including Beethoven, Strauss and Sibelius.
Along with Kemble, Knight and Welmar, Chappell dominated the UK market and is regarded as one of the finest British manufacturers, with an excellent reputation for building high quality, long lasting pianos.
This medium-sized upright piano offers everything that you would expect from a Kemble made instrument. It boasts a full 88 note keyboard with a nice volume and rich tone, which is coupled with a balanced and responsive touch. This very well constructed upright is housed in a rich, satin oak case which is nicely proportioned across the whole cabinet.
