Custom-painted “Japanese Sunrise” Yamaha PSR-2 Vintage FM Keyboard
The listing is for the keyboard only – no batteries or power supply included.
I originally bought this as a second-hand item in very poor condition. A few of the keys didn’t sound, it was very dirty and the keys were full of deep scratches (it looks like the previous owner has scratched all over the keys).
I dismantled and cleaned it inside and out, and gave it a custom-painted “Japanese Sunrise” design. I also tried to remove as much of the scratching from the keys as possible, but they are very deep scratches which unfortunately cannot be easily removed. It is less noticeable now, and it was actually quite difficult to photograph! But, sadly, it is still there.
That said, the keyboard is now fully working – all keys sound, and it’s a much more usable unit than it was previously. Besides the scratched keys, the only other defects are that the battery cover is missing, and some of the paint has begun to rub off in some areas (see pictures).
This remains a very collectable example of the early Yamaha FM-based PSR series with an interesting history and plenty of battle scars. I hope you can give it its next chapter. Happy bidding!
