F. Weber Antique Upright Piano With Ornate Burr Walnut Case C.1890
A beautiful F. Weber antique upright piano made in Berlin circa 1890, serial number 15004. This piano features an exquisite burr walnut case with decorative floral inlay, carved legs and ornate mouldings. The instrument deploys a traditional straight strung, overdamped mechanism and benefits from some recent refurbishment work to maintain the functionality of the instrument. The casework has also been repolished and is in excellent condition with only minor wear and tear commensurate with age. A fine antique instrument that would grace any period property or collection.
Established in Berlin in the mid 1800s, F. Weber were a prolific make of good quality instruments often with decorative cabinets. The firm showcased their pianos at many of the world exhibitions of the period and were gold medal winners on a number of occasions.
