A SET OF THREE FAIR ORGAN FIGURES: ONE BANDMASTER AND TWO SMALL FEMALE BELL-RINGERS. Height of bandmaster is approx. 26.5″, (67cm). The two bell-ringers are each approx. 21″, (53cm) high. Suitable for mounting on small/medium fair organ front. The bandmaster is carved from limewood. He has two movements: a conducting baton right hand and a ‘dynamics-indicating’ left hand. (The actuating rod is to be attached to the top of the wind reservoir and rises and falls in accordance with wind usage). The two bell-ringers are resin castings at the top and wood carvings from the waist down. They are matched but not identical. One is left-handed and the other right-handed in accordance with the symmetry conventions of a traditional fair organ front. They are motorised to operate the bells in time with the conductor. Three pneumatic motors and suitable connecting parts are included to operate the figures from the bass drum wind supply of an organ, although the purchaser is likely to have their own ideas on how to connect them up. They are new/unused items that have been constructed over many years and intended for an organ my husband never got round to building. Age, health and retirement now make them surplus to requirements. COLLECTION IN PERSON FROM BRISTOL, – OR SEND YOUR COURIER.
