Here you have my beautiful Farfisa Compact Duo organ – the sound of Pink Floyd, Iron Butterfly and many many more classic 60s bands and soundtracks!

I’ve owned it since the late 80s, it’s never left my studio and has been a joy to use on many recordings – however I’m not finding it’s getting the use it should these days so thought should pass it on to another enthusiast.

It’s still got it’s bass pedals (fully working) and volume pedal and the case has a few scuffs as you would expect from an organ that’s over 50 years old. It’s got it’s original lid too and it’s original power supply with the famous Farfisa reverb tank.

That’s all the good stuff – there are a couple of minor issues to think about – they don’t massively detract from the playability of the instrument and it can certainly be used straight away.

1. The ‘4’ tab, when depressed makes a high sustained note (a high A) – the Farfisa has so much juice sonically that it’s not a big problem – as hopefully you’ll hear from this short demo I’ve done….there are still an awful lot of different sounds to be had.

2. The reverb works perfectly – however the switch on the organ doesn’t work – you have to work it from the PSU where there’s a volume switch.

3. The lower manual has a very small amount of background noise – you can’t hear it when you’re playing. For recording I’ve always turned the volume down on the lower manual and used the upper one unless the part required both being used – which of course blots it out. It’s been like this since the late 80s and hasn’t ever held me back.

4. When the volume pedal is switched on there’s a very small earth hum. As the volume pedal only works as a swell, not a full volume pedal to be honest it’s not very useful and I’ve never had it plugged in.

So that’s about it – as you’d expect from an organ this old there’s the odd crackle and pop occasionally but nothing that ever sticks around for more than a second. It’s also EXTREMELY heavy – it’s a two man lift if going any distance!

It’s collection only, obviously. And no returns.

Any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Happy Bidding!
