We are open with safety measures in place. Viewings are by appointment only as always, and with all available pianos carefully cleaned before and after all viewings (as we did for several weeks before the lockdown). We ask all visitors to wear face coverings and to use hand cleaner before entering the showroom and will be observing strict social distancing procedures. We have disposable gloves available also. Deliveries are carefully planned in advance to minimise contact, with pianos cleaned before and after delivery and all precautions taken. This is a very good quality studio sized upright piano made in Finland by Fazer in 1988. This piano would suit a serious musician or music teacher or would be a fantastic instrument for a beginner and suitable up to the higher exam grades.
Tone and tuning
Beautiful rich tone for a fairly small upright. Clear, bright and warm across the whole pitch range with no harshness – a very pleasing sound. The piano has been professionally serviced and tuned to concert pitch (A=440). Piano features middle ‘celeste’ pedal which drops the volume significantly for quiet practice.
Action and keys
The British built Langer 80 action is excellent and feels responsive and really satisfying to play – even touch across the keyboard and very good dynamic range. Good for beginners and advanced players – action is not too light but certainly not heavy. Keys are in perfect condition and level across whole range.
Hammers and strings
As can been seen in the pictures the piano has not been played a great deal – very little wear in the Hammers. Strings in excellent condition also with no oxidisation.
Case
Previously a rather dated natural wood colour, with some marks and scratches, this piano has been professionally refinished in Trafalgar Blue with a satin finish and looks absolutely stunning. Matching stool with storage included in sale.
Soundboard
Perfect condition – no splits or cracks.
