ForSale :- New ‘Purcell’ Portable Continuo Pipe Organ.
Thisorgan was finished in our West-Yorkshire Workshop a few weeks ago andis now available for sale. The purchase price is Ex-Works, forcollection, or, if required, we can calculate a delivery amount forUK mainland. We also Export Organs on a regular basis. General Notes :- The ‘Purcell 2018’Continuo organ model is a slight re-design of the popular ‘Purcell’model, manufactured for over 15 years now, and exported all round theworld. All our organs can be powered by any world-wide mainssupplies (auto-sensing of voltage and cycles-per-second) and arefitted with castors for easy movement, and supplied with music standand plastic dust / rain cover. The ‘Purcell 2018’ organ can betransported in vehicles either stood vertically, or layed flat on itsBass Side. These organs are used by Early Music and Choral Ensemblesin the UK, Japan, Mexico and the USA, and in smaller Churchesworldwide. Some organs, particularly in the UK, are simply played inthe home, being a compact instrument who’s value will appreciate overthe years. This organ model is approx 17 pounds lighter in weightthan the 2017 model.
Musical Specification:- The 56 note keyboard istopped with Bolivian Walnut with Sycamore Sharps and is a standardproduct for us. Four stop sliders areused to select the four stops :- 8′ Gedact (From Bass’E’ to top g””).4′ Octave :- Completecompass.2′ 15th :-Complete compass.1′ 22nd :-(The top octave doubles back one octave). The 4 ranks give a goodrange of tonal and dynamic sounds, the most useable seven being :- 8’solo, 8’+4′, 8’+4’+2′, 8’+4’+2’+1′, 8’+2′, 8’+ 1′ and 8’+2’+1′.
The main organ contains76 fine wooden pipes, the highest 26 being open flutes made entirelyof finest lemonwood. The 50 stopped gedact pipes offer the idealaccompaniment for Recorders and small vocal groups and basso-continuoin the larger ensembles also. Our organ designs have always placedease of tuning , usability and affordability above all else. The 1’stop of the ‘Purcell’ will be particularly useful in congregationalaccompaniment and adds considerable brilliance to the tone.The stopped pipes have’un-nicked’ windways, yealding the slight ‘chiff’ so admired in smallpipe organs. The stopped pipes are medium-wide scale having lowcut-ups, so a mild ‘Quint’ harmonic can also be detected in the tone. Tuning stability, even when being moved around frequently, isexcellent. The number of ‘Purcell’ organs built is now over 100 andmost of these are sold to the SAME Importers in USA, Japan andMexico. THEY like them, YOU can too !!!!The organ’s low-weightenables 2 people to lift it into a van.
For Early Musicperformers, a Transposition Unit can be supplied at any time in thefuture (by Post) to enable the player to play at either A440 orA415hz pitches. This unit requires no tools, and can be fitted inabout 5 minutes by you. These units are generally available within 3weeks and cost 160 at present prices.
