1962 Hammond A100 vintage tone wheel organ with pedalboard, bench and Leslie kit for connection to 145/147 type Leslies.A Hammond A-100 differs from a Hammond B-3 only in that it has a different shaped cabinet, and that it is self-contained and doesn’t need an external tone cabinet or Leslie.  In the case of the A-100, the cabinet contains a gutsy 2×12 sound system and 1×12 reverberation channel.  The cabinet is not as deep front-to-back (635 mm) as a Hammond B-3 or C-3 so it is easier to get it through narrow doorways typically found in the UK.  This organ is serial number 18329E.   It was built in the UK in 1962 with wax capacitors and felt manual seals.  The organ is in full working order and is stock with some internal additions to improve reliability and longevity without altering the tone in any way.  All tones on all keys, pedals, and drawbars are present.A headphone socket is installed as per the schematic in the manual which gives a pleasing stereo effect as well as reverberation. The Leslie kit hinges downwards for access through narrow passageways.  The connection for a6-pin Leslie cable plugs into the 5-pin socket on the back of the organ and can be removed when not in use which keeps things neat at the back.  There is a 1/4″ line out connection on the Leslie connection.  Power is supplied to the organ using a 3-pin IEC ‘kettle lead’ provided. The presets on both manuals have been adjusted for more popular settings. There is a momentary kick-switch for Leslie speed on the expression pedal (press for tremolo). The Leslie kit is wired so that the reverberation in the console is always active, and the feed to the Leslie can be taken either from the preamplifier output or the power amplifier output which gives more bass. The organ was refurbished in 2003: New manual up-stop and down-stop felts Goff Professional rubber generator mounting bushes Fuses added to all amplifier chassis to protect from valves going short-circuit Power relay to protect run switch and allow connection of multiple tone cabinets High power silicon diodes to prolong the life of the 6X4, 5Y3, and 5U4GB valve rectifiers New individually matched tone generator and vibrato line capacitors using Goff Professional kits (recapped) New resistors and electrolytic capacitors in all the amplifier chassis (AO-28, AO-35 and AO-39)The finish on the cabinet, pedalboard and bench is not perfect and there are historic burn marks, scratches and other marks in places, particularly on the bench, and the gold coloured inlay in the music rest is flattened in places.  Some of the paint has worn off the enamelled metal panel between the two manuals.I used this organ for my advanced improvisation exam at college but it hasnt been out of the building since then. Im selling it because I need the space, but will be sorry to see it go.  This is a fine instrument suitable for home, professional and recording use.The dolly underneath the organ is not included in the sale.  A Leslie speaker is not included in the sale, butt he organ has built in speakers so you may not want one.Collection in person only. I will help get the organ out of the building and onto the street.  I may be able to help with delivery in the Greater London area subject to negotiation.Any questions feel free to ask.
