Up for sale here is my much-loved Hammond XB-2 organ keyboard. If you’ve come across one of these, you’ll know just how good they sound.
This one is in great condition cosmetically and it’s recently had the electronic once-over and been given a clean bill of health – and a new memory backup battery.
It comes in a custom case that fits both it and the genuine Hammond volume pedal that originally would have been supplied with it. I had to buy a NOS pedal as this one didn’t have one when I bought it.
It’s a great organ, and I’m sad to see it go, but at 70 years of age I can’t see me lugging it around any more….
If you don’t know much about the XB-2, this review from Music Technology magazine – August 1991 – will give you a pretty clear picture of what it can do: www.muzines.co.uk/articles/hammond-xb2/849
(Search for it on Google if ebay removes the link)
The XB-2 wasn’t a cheap keyboard – back in 1991 the XB-2 and the volume pedal would have set you back 1399.00.
Because it is heavy and impractical to ship, the auction winner is going to have to collect it from me (or arrange its collection).
To help make up for that I’m throwing in the X-stand and extensions that I used with it – again, these are in great condition.
If you want to bid, but can’t collect, please do get in touch and we’ll see what we can work out delivery-wise. I’m retired, so I’m pretty flexible…..
Any questions – please get in touch!
