Modern MIDI controller keyboards can be programmed to control the HX3’s parameters, using “assignable controls on the keyboard”.I used this HX3 module with my Roland RD2000, using all the included MIDI cables and Roland USB-MIDI Interface (expensive !), to control the parameters, drawbar changes etc, via an app on my iPad.Totally awesome Hammond B3 emulation.
Check out Keyboard Partner’s website and there are lots of audio examples on Youtube, searching either for HX3 itself, or Mag organs, or UHL organs (which both use the HX3 organ engine inside their keyboards).
NB. The HX3 organ engine has gone through multiple software versions, so some Youtube videos will be of earlier versions – and if you think those sound good, wait until you hear v4.22.
When v.4.25 came out, many preferred v4.22. Some believe the Chorus/Vibrato is better on v4.25, but others prefer everthing else on v4.22. As you can download v4.25 for free, you can chop & change, as you like, until you decide which version you prefer – but both are great !
