A beautiful focal piece and a wonderful sound.
Just had it tuned, bought a a present for my Wife, but she says she wants an upright now instead.
One pedal needs repair, but the tuner tells me the piano is ‘concert pitch’ – a good thing apparently. It had some sticky keys, which the tuner fixed, but he did say that more might stick as the piano adjusted to its new location, so you may find you need to get someone in.
The piano is well built, by a respected company, but obviously, it’s an antique so it has some age-related, mainly cosmetic issues :
The hinge and pedal, mentioned above
Some delamination of the veneer along one side, where the previous owner had it next to a piano.
A few small bumps and knocks (see pictures).
I recommend getting a specialist piano moving firm (I used anyvan dot com), as you don’t want a beautiful instrument like this to be damaged.
