Kawai K300 / KUS3 Upright piano. Comparable to the Yamaha U3 – ideal for advancing pianist looking to upgrade to a piano suitable for serious study, or anyone who wants a beautiful piano. The tone is quite mellow for an asian piano, and the bass is deep and lush owing to the 123cm height – it is a very musical piano indeed and I would say it sounds more “european”.
If you are thinking about a Yamaha U1/U2/U3 I would suggest trying this piano as it compares very well, and I would say sounds better than most of them which can be very bright.
In fantastic condition, rare Chinese market only version imported by very rich businessman for his children who lost interest, acquired from Knightsbridge house clearance. The new price of this piano was around 5000, and indeed the current RRP of the UK version is 4899.
The Kawai action is smooth and flawless and hammers show just light signs of use. Holds tuning excellently. I believe the piano is less than 10 years old and looks like new. (Awaiting confirmation of exact age from Kawai).
The case is in very good condition with just a few very small marks. The lid has the soft close mechanism to protect fingers and the piano from damage. Includes matching stool.
