!!! Kemble Upright Unique 6 Octave Piano. Condition is Used. Collection in person only.
This is a chance to acquire a unique 6 octave Kemble piano. It’s true that there are a number of 6 octave Kembles around however this is more attractive a design than the often seen Kemble mynx.
It has been in my family for over 10 years and when I bought it it had some significant work done to the hammer assembly. Old tapes and leathers were replaced with new and the action was regulated.
It is an old piano, so the usual bumps and scrapes (especially to the front of the lid), but the internal workings are in great condition and the keyboard is clean, with no chips, missing or broken keys or veneers. Overall the piano looks reasonably tidy.
The piano has not been tuned for over a year as I am expecting to buy a newer piano once the space is cleared, so will need tuning after moving, which you would expect. The instrument easily tunes to concert pitch and has a respectable, clear bright tone – absolutely not the ‘honky tonk’ noise you sometimes get with old pianos.
The touch is quite light, and very even and would suit a beginner, to intermediate player up to Grade 5.
I have enjoyed owning this unique 6 octave instrument but am ready to make a new investment and let someone enjoy this piano.
