The Korg Trinity’s main sound block was given the acronym A.C.C.E.S.S. which meant Advanced Control Combined Synthesis System. The ACCESS sound engine was was 24 megabytes of sample based PCM sounds sampled at 48khz which was a big breakthrough at the time. It resulted in a plush and robust sounding sample set.
In addition it was the first synthesizer to feature a touchscreen. Korg’s TouchView Graphical User Interface was operated by touching directly on a large 320 x 240 dot LCD screen. More information can be displayed in the large LCD, so that parameter settings could be viewed at a glance for much easier editing.
The Trinity plus added the solo synth option which was the Prophecy sound engine integrated with the Trinity. All models offered this optional expansion.
