Legnica 115 Upright Piano c1980 / 1095
Welcome to Berries Barn Pianos – specialising in high quality modern pianos, fully serviced and tuned and carefully delivered to their new homes. A good quality mid sized upright piano made in Poland c1980 by the well regarded Legnica company, (previously Liegnitz in Germany before WWII). Unfortunately Legnica ceased production in about 1999, but until then they had maintained the very high standards of craftsmanship and rich European tones of their German piano building heritage. This piano was been regularly tuned and well looked after and would suit beginners as well as more advanced players.
Fully serviced, including tuning and regulation, fully checked inside and out (any parts replaced as necessary), this is a great looking and sounding piano. Due to the quality of craftsmanship and advanced design features (e.g. the agrafes for each note, usually found only on grand pianos) Legnica pianos are well loved for their tonal quality and rightly so. Tone and tuningIt has a big and quite rich tone with nice balance between brightness and warmth, and a good dynamic range. Good full bass tone and the treble is clear and bell like without being harsh. Tuned to concert pitch (A=440).
Keyboard and actionThe full 88 note keyboard is in excellent condition and the action has been regulated so plays smoothly with medium weight across the whole keyboard. It is responsive and satisfying to play.
Hammers and stringsVery little wear in the hammers – it has certainly not been played heavily. The hammers are by Abel – top quality, made in Germany.
Sound board – spruceExcellent condition, no cracks or splits
CaseBeautiful looking natural walnut wood case with polyester high gloss lacquer. In very good condition – some small scratches and marks here and there but still looks really good. Matching stool included.
Dimensions – 115cm tall x 58 deep x 146 wide (widest point at top lid). A medium sized upright.Free ground floor delivery within 40 miles.
