Provides a fat, tubelike overdrive for clonewheel organsThe Organ Grinder was the first Lounsberry Pedal designed for keyboards. Developed with the aid of Roger Powell of Utopia and Meat Loaf fame, it provides a fat, tubelike overdrive for clonewheel organs that can cover the gamut of organ sounds from Greg Rollie, to Jon Lord, Uriah Heep, and even Canterbury sounds.
It is a gain staged preamp with Germanium diodes. The onset of overdrive is gradual and can be easily controlled with the swell pedal. It adds compression and 2nd order harmonics. With it’s drive and transparency, it works extremely well even with complex chord shapes.
Like all Lounsberry Pedals it sounds and plays more like an amp than a pedal, bringing to mind the tube power amp section of an overdriven Leslie cabinet. As it easily handles the low notes, the Organ Grinder also sounds awesome with bass guitar. Itt is the ultimate shredding device for the keyboardist who wants to rock.

The Organ Grinder is a multi stage overdrive that uses FETs to simulate vacuum tubes, and germanium diodes in the clipping stage. That feeds into the input stage of the final FET amp that gets FAT as it saturates.
If you play organ, electric piano, or synth, and are tired of using guitar pedals with their characteristic mid-range hump, and are looking for an overdrive with wide, flat frequency response designed specifically for keyboards, this is the pedal for you. This one can handle your bass notes.
OPERATION;
Nothing could be simpler. Advance the Drive control to add fatness, grit and overdrive (depending on level). Use the Level control to balance the level against the bypassed signal. True bypass is available via the stomp switch. Use 1/4 T/S cables only. The use of a TRS cable at the input defeats the power switch. Unplug the input cable when not in use to preserve battery life.
POWER SUPPLY:
The Organ Grinder operates on a standard 9v battery, or external pedal supply. Power is switched automatically when the DC jack is used. The specs are:
