Here we have a real bargain for you! This Marsha & Rose piano was manufacturer in approximately 1930 -1932 and plays beautifully as you can hear in my video demonstration. Externally the cabinet has a unique walnut finish, with a lovey grain that seems to shimmer and shine as you walk around it. There are a few signs of wear and tear with a small mark on the top back of the piano key fall (the keys covering lid), there a few small marks on the lid as it is folded back too. I have taken photos and show these in the video. They are not sinister and the piano overall looks good I think. Internally the piano is sound, at concert pitch and has been regularly tuned with a responsive action as you would expect from a piano of his quality. The tone is really nice too, making this piano a real pleasure to play. This 5ft 8″ baby grand piano is priced at a great offer and represents real value for money.

About Marshal & Rose Acoustic Pianos….
The firm of “Sir J. Herbert Marshall & Rose” was established in London in 1907. Mr. Rose left the partnership in 1909 and the firm was reorganized as “Sir Herbert Marshall & Company”. That same year Sir J. Herbert Marshall entered into a contract with Wicox & White which allowed his firm the exclusive representation of the Angelus player mechanism in Great Britain.
In 1911 Marshall’s two sons Ernest J. Marshall and Herbert A. Marshall joined the firm and the company was incorporated as “Sir Herbert Marshall & Sons, Ltd.” Although the firm was a late-comer compared to most other established English makers, the firm enjoyed a great deal of success throughout most of the 20th Century. They were known for building very durable, well made pianos, often using very lavish woods and cabinet designs. Several different firms were affiliated with Sir Herbert Marshall & Sons throughout the 20th Century. The Sir Herbert Marshall & Sons brand name was discontinued in 1998.
