This Marshall and Rose Upright Piano, OVERSTRUNG/UNDERDAMPED with an IRON FRAME and has been tuned to CONCERT PITCH recently, made by the acclaimed manufacturer Sir Herbert Marshall and Rose. He was Knighted for his contribution to British Piano Manufacturing.This is a second hand piano circa 1940s, the piano has been Refurbished and is in very good condition. The case work has been fully re-polished in black semi satin. The Action mechanism is in top-class working order and has been completely serviced in my workshop.
Includes- the piano hammers being re-profiled and toned resulting in the instrument producing an excellent tone, the action has been fully regulated leaving the piano to always work correctly (the keys will never stick and will play correctly and very smoothly). Also the sound board has been checked revealing no cracks and in good condition, the tuning pins are in excelent condition and the piano will keep in tune for one year at a time.
(normal recommended tuning interval). Note pianos after delivery may need an extra tuning.
This piano produces a Classic tone full of character as the hammers and strings have had only light use.(Send Email so I can post a video demonstration Link) This piano has a strong resonating sound board meaning notes resonate after dampening (similar to German pianos).
The full seven octave keyboard (88 notes) is in very good condition.(natural piano white in colour and no chips)
With two pedals, sustain and quiet pedal both are in perfect working order with new felts.
Though the piano has been re-polished there are a few little bruising marks to the right side of the piano which can only be seen in certain light conditions, see the last photo.
This excellent Piano overstrung under damped has had not had heavy use throughout its life time. Marshall and Rose pianos are very reliable instruments and were made to a very high standard with excellent quality. This piano will give many many more years of good playing to its new owner, taking any pupil through to their grades.Under the correct environmental conditions for the piano- under the correct humidity and temperature the piano will give many many more years of use. The price of the piano is 745 and is payable by Paypal only. I can arrange delivery with a specialized piano mover, these costs are in addition to the price of the piano. If a third party mover is used, then they are responsible for the piano whilst in transit. The delivery cost is 90 Local (Local is up to 60 miles), this will be added to the check out price on purchase, once delivery costs have been agreed. ( up 60 to 100 mile maximum which is 140, anyone trying to get delivery over 100 miles for 90 the order will be canceled).
