This is a beautiful and rare symmetrical baby grand piano made by Robert Morley & Co. C. 1930-1935. The company still exists after nearly 140 years of making pianos. Dimensions:148.50cm wide 88.50cm high 134.00cm deepIt plays very nicely and for what I can see all parts are original and aligned. Being a baby grand piano it has a decent sized sound board giving it a nice tone. Its been tuned every year, and the previous owner used to tune it too regularly. All the keys respond well, but one has the top layer missing (see pic). Buying a replacement shouldnt be a problem. It has two pedals, one works but the other needs adjusting, Id rather leave it to someone else who knows what they are doing.
Its made of solid hardwood (mahogany perhaps). All the parts look original. It hasnt been re-varnished as far as Im aware and towards the back its peeling off. Dispute it looking amazing already, a bit of treatment wouldnt go a-miss! It has 7 octaves and 2 pedals.
Its very attractive, a central feature and a fantastic piece of furniture. A great talking point too.
A bit of history: We bought it 4 years ago from a lady who was downsizing her house. She was around 80 and was given the piano (second hand) when she was 18. She was a serious pianist and teacher, we havent used it as much as wed like. We are selling because our house has been reconfigured and now we dont have the space.
