11, 500 Off Original Price

!!!***THIS HARPSICHORD IS SUPPOSED TO LOOK WORN AND AGED, TO IMITATE ORIGINAL CLASSICAL HARPSICHORDS, AND SO HAS BEEN MADE TO LOOK ANCIENT***!!!
The techniques used in the aging are the same used for modeling, such as model railways, and the metal parts have been age and lacquered accordingly and then applied with hard wearing lacquer and buffed.
Selling due to the lack of space. As you can see in the photo the harpsichord is stuck right in front of my Schimmel piano. However I do have room for an Organ due to their size and shape.
So long as I have either a Roland C30, AT300, AT500 AT350, 80SL, 80S, Ringway 1000e or even a Yamaha AR-100 other Popular Digital Organ I will be happy. Adjustment made either way.
Would also love to play a Vibraphone, so will consider one of those, can make room so no problem, but do not have space for a Marimba.

Why would I age restore a harpsichord?

For originality to make it look as rare and old as the originals that cost about 100,000+Please Note: (The keys have been gold and copper aged so they look slightly rusty and stained for authenticity.Commissioned by a Fortepianist. Classical compasskeyboard to play all Haydn, Mozart and much of the later Beethoven keyboard repertoire, hence a kneelever and the extended compass.
Most harpsichords were converted into fortepiano’s after the classical period, as it was cheaper than building new instruments so are very rare and very expensive, as are the few reproductions. This was made in the mid 80s so is not a revival harpsichord.
Restoration has taken 2 years to complete. The case is cherry wood. ThePanels on the lid have been teak age finished. Top panel edging has been classical period gold age finished with aged brass edging. Music stand has been brass aged with gold edging and copper centre rails etc.The cogs, filigree and motifs have all been blended and aged with bronze, gold and coppercontrasts.
An aged medallion of  Franz Schubert as a central piece and aged dedication and restoration plaque as  an internal centre piece to exemplifythe harpsichords Classical and aged origins.
Allthe tuning pins, wooden jacks and the rails are in excellent working order and need no regulation. So please come yourself, or send a Technician or Specialist, One that deals with Pianos will be able to make a judgement.

All viewing is welcome

Due to Macular Degeneration AMD very poor central eyesight I am unable to voice and regulate the harpsichord myself and struggled when restoring with the fine detail. A beginner can re-voice and regulate the harpsichord themselves, as all harpsichordists do.

It is about patience for fiddly work. Regulating a harpsichord is nothing like regulating a piano which needs a far more accomplished hand due to the nature of its construction and engineering.

!!!***While the price of the harpsichord as a commission at 30,000+ by today’s standards due to workmanship, quality of the wood and rarity. 100,000+ for an original***!!!

This is what classical music sounds like on a classical harpsichord.

 Size:
Length 199cm (6.5ft or 78.3″)Width 88cm or (34.6″)Depth of Body 24cm (9.4″)Weight is 75 Kilos (99 for Transport Purposes)

Easy and light to pick up and easy storage, legs unscrew, so if you want to move it about, put it in a bedroom, or take it when you move, then it does not need specialists to move it for you. A student can even take it to college without fear of steps or moving into a dorm.
An easy lift for 2 people wrapped and cushioned for the journey, or pick up yourself and I will help, or just a man with a van.The harpsichord can be placed in a small van by 2 people.
I recommend Shipley’s for the best price

If you live in Europe you can have this picked up pretty cheaply, and I can help this end. Just contact me beforehand.
