You are bidding on an empty console, into which a midi organ could be built.
I am upgrading my Hauptwerk instrument, and am about to take possession of a new console. I have been informed of one of the rules of this house, namely that I am not allowed to have two consoles in the lounge. Therefore, this one has to go.
The console was built by Wyvern Organs, and is around 45 years old. The age and manufacturer will reassure you that this console is of solid and reliable craftsmanship. It closes up with glass-panelled front doors and a wooden lid. The stop jambs are click-on/click-off, and all work (although some of the bulbs need to be replaced). There are NO keyboards included in the sale, but it was built for two manuals, and could fit three manuals with a bit of adjustment to the music stand (this was my original plan before the new console became available). There are two expression pedals. The pedalboard is nicely sprung, but has NO contacts – I removed the damaged contacts and replaced them with reed switches, however I require the reed switches for my new instrument and they have therefore been removed. You will be able to fit either new contacts or reed switches as you think best. The organ bench is also included.
There are several marks, dents and scratches, as might be expected of a working instrument of this age, but nothing recent. The blemishes could be repaired by a skilled craftsman, but I do think they add a little character!
Low starting bid because I desperately want this to go to someone who will appreciate it, but if there are no buyers I may be obliged to scrap it. The winning bidder must agree to collect within two weeks of the end of the auction.
Dimensions are 127cm x 153cm x 76cm. It will fit into a transit, but is reasonably heavy and awkward to move. I can help with loading, but an aditional body would be handy – and certainly would be required for unloading.
