Description:-

Organ pedalboard, 25-note. with ‘MIDI’ conversion  + organ bench. –  Collect from BRISTOL only, -(by social distancing during this current c0vid-19 crisis).       Condition is ‘Seller refurbished’.

Details:-

A 25-note pedalboard, originally from a Yamaha organ, plus an organ bench and the separate contact unit into which the pedalboard fits.  This contact unit has been ‘Midified’ by connecting the contacts to the electronics from a MIDI master keyboard which has been built into the unit.  The MIDI control/display unit from the master keyboard has been mounted on top of the contact unit. This is the light-grey plastic part.  MIDI-out connection is by standard  ‘DIN’ socket, (not USB).  The oak bench is home-made, (not Yamaha), but matches the colour of the woodwork well.  The top felts of the pedalboard have been replaced to give a quieter operation and the pedal-springs adjusted to give a firmer operation.  There is space for a swell pedal to be mounted.

N.B.

Unfortunately, this MIDI conversion has not been totally successful as there is a limit to the number of MIDI channels that can be accessed.  The default channel that comes up when switched on is ‘1’.  The available channels that can be reliably accessed are:-  1, 2, 8, 9, 10 &16, (although some other channels occasionally can come up randomly and unreliably with persistence.  [Not recommended though]).  Please see the picture of the chart showing which organ pedals access which channels. The pedals tend to alternate between two channels each.  My ‘old-school’ knowledge of electronics is not up to sorting out why all 16 MIDI channels are not available following the conversion.  They all came up on the master keyboard originally.

Access to the available channels is obtained by pressing the ‘MIDI SELECT’ button, pressing one of the bottom 16 organ pedals  corresponding with the required channel as shown on the chart, and then again pressing ‘MIDI SELECT’. The display then shows the channel selected.    PLEASE ENSURE THAT THIS RESTRICTED CHOICE OF CHANNELS IS SUITABLE FOR YOUR PURPOSES BEFORE BIDDING.  – I don’t want to have unhappy customers.
