This is a large upright piano of professional quality in traditional high-gloss ebony colour, built by highly respected German manufacturer Perzina using German strings, hammers, pin blocks & casters, Austrian spruce soundboard and German & Dutch veneers. Rarely available in the UK, Perzina pianos are more common in the US, where the price new is over $12,000.
The GP-129 is overstrung to give a fuller sound, especially in the bass, with a highly resonant soundboard and very active sustain. The action is firm and responsive, making this a highly rewarding piano to play. There are three pedals: sustain, piano and a very useful practice pedal, which uses a felt mute bar to generate an appealingly restrained tone.

I bought this example from Markson Pianos in 2004, where it was highly recommended to me as being equal to, or arguably surpassing, the Yamaha U3. This is what I wrote about it at the time:What a great instrument! I love the coherence of the tone – it’s very involving, but not overpowering. The same goes for the well-mannered dynamics, and the action is as responsive as you could ask for. It seems that everything about this piano is well judged and geared towards rewarding the engagement of the player with the instrument. It’s quite the equal, from the player’s point of view, to some much more pricey machines. Everyone who touches it raves about it, and Yamaha owning friends are awe-struck.
The piano has been kept in a temperature- and humidity-monitored environment, and has just been serviced and tuned by a very experienced and highly regarded technician, with felts replaced and everything cleaned to restore the instrument to near showroom condition. It both sounds and looks superb. I’ve loved every minute I’ve spent playing the piano, and am only selling it now because we’re preparing to move to a smaller house.
You’ll want to hear the piano for yourself and to feel the quality of the action, especially if you haven’t played a Perzina before. The price includes a good quality adjustable bench in matching black lacquer with custom heavy-duty fabric covering.
