12 BASS FLUTE PIPES ON SMALL WINDCHESTfor EXTENDING A PEDAL BOURDON 16ft RANKI suppose this little windchest could be used for any 12 pipes, but it is specifically made to contain the top 12 pipes of a pedal BASS FLUTE.A standard 16ft Pedal Bourdon stop has 30 pipes. To extend this to make an 8ft BASS FLUTE stop, you would need a further octave (12) of pipes – Middle F# to Treble F. That is what this chest and pipes are for – plainly the organ they came from once had only a pedal Bourdon, and someone extended it to make a Bass Flute stop.The action is tubular pneumatic (charge), but 12 lever-arm magnets could easily be applied to convert to electric action. It is simply a case of removing the bottom rail and its leather motors, and screwing magnets to the bottom of the chest. I could supply second-hand magnets (or at a pinch even fit them for a buyer)BY CARRIER: to post chest and pipes would probably cost 20-25.
