pipe organ piston selection panel. Condition is Used.
This is definitely a budget item, but it’s potentially too useful for me simply to chuck it away because I don’t have a use for it myself.
The system is well-made if a bit basic! A close up shows how each contact spring is made to rest in a choice of brass screw slots. To change, simply lift the spring and select a new position.
This system takes up little room and for someone with a small instrument and a bit of common-sense know-how it will turn a fixed piston system into an adjustable one. There are six piston relays, one photo shows three of them, the other three are in a similar position at the other end of the assembly.
The specification of the original organ had divisions of 12, 7 and 8 stops respectively. It was made by Cousans of Lincoln c.1980. the front face is oak ply, slightly battered, but everything is intact including all the wiring behind. I’ve not cleaned it up at all.
Dimensions 36″ long 9.5″ tall and 3″ deep
I would prefer collection in person, but I would be happy to package this up and send it via courier provided that the purchaser undertakes to reimburse that courier’s charge. My guess: that might be (at most) another 20.
