Rank of Organ Pipes:   PEDAL BOURDON / BASS FLUTE
The organ comes from a Methodist Church in Bradford. Its origins are not certain – possibly built (around 1900) by Fitton and Haley, and certainly restored by them around 1930. The bellows weights are J.J.BINNS (whose firm did soon after amalgamate with Fitton + Haley).  Could the original pipework be by Binns? I’m not sure what all this tells us, but I can say that whichever pipemakes their pipes were ordered from, they are very good.
This Bourdon is of good, stout timber, and appears in very good condition. It has 42 pipes, to cover Bourdon 16ft and Bass Flute 8ft (Top 12 pipes are metal, and on their own small chest separately.
The rank (all except the 12 metal pipes) is on a single soundboard, well braced. It was on a charge pneumatic system, which would electrify easily with Lever-arm magnets.Measurements of the chest are:  Length 72″, Width 22″, depth of actual chest 16″10 wooden pipes on the front row; 10 wooden pipes on the middle row; 10 wooden pipes on the back row; 12 metal pipes on separate chest for the top octave of the Bass Flute The wind pressure is around 3 inches.
My details are on the final photo, should you wish to contact me with questions. I have a number of ranks at the moment, plus 4 more organs to dismantle in the coming weeks. So do feel free to call me if you have any requests for pipework. (My details are on the last photograph)
This rank is too big and heavy to be sent by carrier, so it is “collection only” from the church in Thackley, Bradford. I would meet you there and help you lift it outJust a footnote: I do get quite a few requests from private contacts outside Ebay. If one of these wants to buy any of my listed ranks of pipes, I would take them off Ebay during a listing and sell them privately. Once a bid has been placed however, I will always leave the listing to run its course. The moral of the story? – If you want an item, place a bid on it sooner rather than at the last minute.
